Defend yourself from the brutal summer heat with my copycat Starbucks Dragon Drink recipe! Featuring my tangy-sweet mango dragonfruit refresher base shaken with creamy coconut milk, this fiercely fuschia libation is sure to slay even the deepest thirst.
Add the water, mango nectar, sugar, dragonfruit powder, and citric acid to a medium saucepan and heat over low heat. Whisk continuously until the dragonfruit powder and citric acid are dissolved, then remove from heat.
Allow the mixture to cool, then transfer to a large jar with a lid. Once cool, make your dragon drink!
Make the dragon drink: Add ½ cup of the mango dragonfruit refresher base, ½ cup of sweetened coconut milk, and 1 tablespoon freeze-dried dragonfruit (this will make the drink purple) to a cocktail shaker or large mason jar with ice. Secure the lid and shake until well combined.
Strain the dragon drink into a tall glass over ice. Top with more freeze-dried dragonfruit if desired. Drink up!
Notes
This makes 2 cups of base, enough for 4 drinks. Store any leftover refresher base in the fridge for up to 1 week.
